Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Young Historians of the William Harris Homestead. We are a service organization of area high school students who learn about history and the environment through hands-on activities and volunteer opportunities. Members give tours of the homestead during public events, work at the country store, and help develop and maintain gardens and trails. With a focus on agriculture, archaeology, and architecture, we also have hands-on learning opportunities from professional researchers conducting fieldwork at the homestead.

Young Historians of The William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center on one of their workdays. Grant and Mark Tribble worked hard to cultivate an area for an heirloom dye garden to be planted. Some time was also spent laying out the path for an interpretive trail/hiking path at the historic site. This trail will be the first of many planned for the William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center in the upcoming years.
