Homeschool Day in the 19th Century

Step back in time and experience life as it was nearly 200 years ago during A Homeschool Day in the 19th Century at the William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center!

Designed especially for homeschool families, this immersive heritage education program brings Georgia history to life through engaging, hands-on experiences led by knowledgeable interpreters in an authentic historic setting.

The William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center is proud to offer its renowned field trip program, A Day in the 19th Century, which has inspired thousands of elementary school students over the years. This special homeschool event provides the same enriching experience and can be enjoyed by students of all ages.

Explore the story of the William Harris Homestead, a working farm with roots dating back to the early settlement of Walton County. Through the history of the Harris family, students will discover how people lived, worked, learned, and adapted during the many transitions of the nineteenth century. History truly comes alive as students experience the sights, sounds, and traditions of the past.
