A Hidden Treasure... The William Harris Homestead was chosen to be one of three "Georgia's Hidden Treasures" for WSB-TV, Channel 2 (ABC), spring TV program, Georgia's Hidden Treasures. It is a 30-minute program, airing June 9 at 8 pm. The segment about the William Harris Homestead Foundation will highlight the field trip, A Day in the 19th Century, for elementary, middle school students and adults. The show will be shown several times over the summer months, so watch the promos on WSB-TV. This TV program will be hosted by news anchors, John Pruitt, Jovita Moore, and Fred Blankenship (Fred is hosting the WHH segment).
Roadshow... Approximately 300 people attended the Antiques in the Country Roadshow at the Homestead on May 1, 2010. Robert Morring was a "hit"as our antiques appraiser. He appraised antique pieces from 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. It was a very popular event, and which we will continue in the future.
Enjoy the Homestead...WHH is available for family reunions, birthday parties, weddings and other events, and custom group tours by appointment. Open to the public the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 10 am to 2 pm.
